The Housing Authority currently owns 4 duplexes (8 rental units) that are centrally located in the community of Independence.  These units all consist of 3-bedrooms, 1 ½ bathrooms, carpeting, mini-blinds, fenced back yards and each unit has a single car garage, that includes washer and dryer connections.  These units are advertised as they become available.  Interested families must apply and be prepared to be processed through the Housing Authority’s reference and suitability screening process, just as they would be through any other private landlord.  The income limit for these units is s

The Housing Authority currently owns one spacious single-family home located in West Salem.  This 2400 square foot, 5-bedroom home features 2 bathrooms, carpeting, mini blinds, washer/dryer connections and a large partially fenced yard.  This unit is advertised when it becomes available.  Interested families must apply and be prepared to be processed through the Housing Authority’s reference and suitability screening process, just as they would be through any other private landlord.  The income limit for these units is set at 80% of median income, which can be found at our “Working with Us”

LaCreole Townhomes Limited Partnership

The Housing Authority is currently in partnership with a private owner for 20 townhouse style units that are located in Dallas.  These units consist of 2-bedroom 1 bath, 3-bedroom 1 bath, and 4-bedroom 1 ½ baths. These units were rehabbed in 2023, they include solid wood-like flooring, new appliances, including a washing machine and dryer in each unit, mini-blinds, new heating units and light fixtures, and small private yard spaces. In addition, the Housing Authority covers the cost for all utilities, including electricity, water, sewer and trash services for this property.
