West Valley Housing Authority

Public Housing

West Valley Housing Authority's Low Rent Public Housing Program includes a portfolio of 373 apartments/townhouses and single-family homes throughout Polk County that are owned and operated by the Housing Authority.

Families on the Low Rent Public Housing Program will be given a choice of paying either an Income-Based Rent amount (approximately 30% of the household's Monthly Adjusted Income) or a market-based Flat Rent amount. To qualify, the family's household income must be less than 80% of the Area Median Income for the family size. Click on the link to Income Limits.

A second qualification, for the Low Rent Public Housing Program, is that all applicant families must pass the tenant screening process. They must provide sufficient "approvable" rental and professional references prior to being placed on the Program's Waiting Lists. A criminal background check is also required on all adult members of the applicant household. Final screening approval of references is the responsibility and decision of West Valley Housing Authority.
