West Valley Housing Authority

Other Available Housing

While West Valley Housing Authority’s two largest housing assistance programs, specifically the Public Housing Program and the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program, are both federally-funded, we have expanded the number of affordable housing units in Polk County that are locally-owned by the Housing Authority. The Housing Authority’s locally-owned affordable units include:

We have 8 duplex housing units that are centrally located in Independence. All of the duplex units have three (3) bedrooms, 1½ bathrooms, carpeting, mini-blinds, a fenced-in back yard and a one-car garage. All 8 units have recently had exterior painting done and new roofs installed. Families should be prepared to be processed through the Housing Authority reference screening process. Please take a look at the picture above.

As well, West Valley Housing Authority also owns a spacious single family home located in West Salem. This 2400 square feet 5-bedroom house has two bathrooms, carpeting, mini-blinds and drapes, washer/dryer, outdoor storage and a one-car garage. The house is currently leased on the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program administered by the City of Salem Housing Authority. A good picture of the house is included above.
